RIP Anya Michelle McKinney

Anya had a terrible accident on June 26th.  She had climbed up to the roof of our townhouse with her friend to explore.  This adventure ended badly when Anya stepped on a plastic roofing area that collapsed and she fell 4 stories to the basement area below.  Fortunately, she landed on the mud and not the concrete which was just a foot away.

She has three doctors attending her, a cardiologist, anesthesiologist and an orthopedic surgeon along with a full time nurse.

Her injuries:

1. Her lungs have been severely damaged and are coated with blood clots thereby greatly reducing the blood - oxygen transfer that we all require to live.  She is on a respirator and cannot breath on her own.  Today's x-rays show a worsening of this condition.
2.  Her heart was damaged in the fall and is bruised and has a clot of blood on the exterior of her heart sac.  Her blood pressure is far too low to endure surgery right now and they are trying to reduce her pain medicine to bring it up and are giving her units of blood.
3.  She has numerous bone and compound bone fractures.  Her right tibia was broken in half with the bone breaking thru the skin.

No doubt she tried to break her fall with her right hand. Her brain seems to be OK via CAT scan as well as her backbone and no broken ribs, which is incredible! The doctors say that the next 48 hours are the most critical and when she improves enough, they will operate to set both her broken arms.

I want to thank you all for your outpouring of support and prayers!

See how great God is? He was with this poor girl till her end of her life. Please do read her story. It's really touching. Sorry, but I know this post comes by a lil late. Just that I totally forgot about this post 2 days ago. Anya passed on 30th June. Hope that she will be happy up there. May her soul rest in peace.

Dear Anya,
I might not know who you are, but may your soul rest in peace. You shall always be in the memory of your friends & family.

Love, Karen.

Dear Karen, this note is meant for Anya's family.i just wanted to let them know how deeply sorry i am to learn about her death. God’s Word promises that death is not the end for our loved one. He reveals to us in the Bible that our dear loved ones are only resting in death and assures us on a solid promise and hope that all those who have died will be brought back to life by means of Jesus ransom (John 5:28,29). Its never easy to cope with the loss but what will empowers us to cope is God’s promise and the firm hope of seeing this little one again here on earth (Revelation 21: 3-5). The Bible teaches us that God is eager to raise the dead and He remembers every detail of our loved one and that He is ready to restore them back to life (Isaiah 40:26). Bible confidently tells us that this day is soon approaching! Please visit this website if you would like to learn more on resurrection www.jw.org - Annie
