Your Blackberry Bold 9700 is a handset that you probably use to send a lot of messages. The great thing about this high-productivity phone is that you can easily customise and personalise your messages and message settings on this device.
Here are some of the ways for you to personalise messages on the Blackberry Bold 9700:
- Change your email signature. A personalised email signature is one of the best ways to add a new level of personalisation to your messages. You can change your email signature on this phone. To do so go to the home screen and open up the email setup application. (This can also be found in the setup folder on the phone.) Go to email accounts and choose the account that you want to change the signature for (such as your Windows Live Hotmail account or your Blackberry email account). Press MENU and select edit. Go to the signature field and enter the new signature message that you want to use. Click save. You may be asked to enter the password for your email address at this time. Do so if necessary.
- Tell others how important your messages are. This handset allows you to assign a level of importance to your email and MMS messages so that recipients can easily see if you need them to answer urgently. When you’re in a message, press the MENU button. Select options. Select the importance level that you want. Press MENU again and save your changes.
- Mark a message as open or unopened. Sometimes you want to mark messages as read or unread for your own convenience. To do this on your BlackBerry Bold 9700, go to your home screen and select “messages”. Highlight the message you want to mark. Press MENU. Choose to either mark as opened or mark as unopened.
- Add new words to the dictionary. You can use spell check in your messages on this phone. However, sometimes the phone won’t recognize the words that you use. Add them to the dictionary so that this isn’t a problem. To do this, go into a message that contains the word you want to add. Press MENU. Select “check spelling”. When it gets to that word press MENU again. Select “add to dictionary”.
- Remove the disclaimer from your messages. Some BlackBerry handsets automatically add a disclaimer to your messages. You can remove this by pressing MENU when you are writing a message and then selecting “remove disclaimer” from the options that appear.
- Use email message filters. Some people with this device are able to use email message filters to easily organize incoming email. For example, you can filter messages from a certain contact or about a certain subject. To do this, go to the home screen and choose “messages”. Highlight a message. Press MENU. Choose to “filter sender” or “filter subject”. Enter a name for the filter. Choose the options from those available. You can mark it as important, save who it’s from or take other actions. Press MENU. Save your changes.
